How Brooklyn Porta Johns Works and Gets Paid
Read who runs this site, who does the work and who you pay before you book a unit.
Who we are
Brooklyn Porta Johns is a marketing company. We are not a contractor. We answer the phone and the quote form for porta potty, restroom trailer, ADA unit, handwash station and holding tank rental in Brooklyn and the Queens, Manhattan and Bronx ZIP codes on our service area page.
We own no units, no trucks and no yard. We don't drop, pump, clean or pick up anything.
Who does the work
Every job goes to one of our licensed and insured rental partners. They are independent local companies, separate businesses from us.
You call the number or send the quote form. Your details go to a partner that works your ZIP: the site ZIP, your dates, the headcount, where the unit goes and how to reach you. Your call may be put straight through, or the partner calls or texts you back.
From there the partner runs the job. It decides if it can take it, sets the price and terms, books the drop, the service visits and the pickup, and bills you direct. No rental money passes through us, and we are not part of your agreement with the partner.
How we get paid
Our partners pay us for the calls and requests we send them. You never pay us. Calling the number and sending the form are free.
Because partners pay us per call, treat this site as a fast way to reach a rental company, not as an independent review of one. If price matters, get more than one quote.
What we check, and what we don't
We work with partners that are licensed and insured. We don't promise a partner is free on your dates. We don't set, guarantee or approve any price, schedule or standard of work.
Before you book, ask the partner for:
- its legal business name and a direct phone number;
- a certificate of insurance, most of all if the unit sits on a sidewalk, in the roadway or on someone else's property;
- a written, itemized quote: service visits, delivery, pickup, any damage waiver, cancellation terms;
- who files any city permit the spot needs.
How to check a company
Look up any company registered in New York in the Department of State business entity database. Match the name on the quote to the name on the certificate of insurance. The guides on this site cover the rules and the questions to ask. They are general information, not legal advice for your site or event.
The drawings on this site
The drawings of units, trailers, sinks and tanks are generic illustrations, not photos of any partner's equipment. If the look matters, say at a wedding, ask the partner for photos or model details.
Your information
The details you share go to the partner taking your job. The privacy policy covers what's collected, who gets it and how to have it deleted. The terms of use cover the rest.
If something goes wrong
Take a problem with the unit, the service or the bill to the partner first. They did the work and hold your agreement. If that doesn't fix it, or the problem is with this site or how your details were handled, email help@brooklynportajohns.com with the date of your call and the partner's name.
You can also file a consumer complaint with the New York State Attorney General or, for businesses in the five boroughs, the NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection.
